What Rapala lure is good for smallmouth bass?

I fish a lot and have taken a liking to Rapala lures. What Rapala lure is the best for catching smallmouth bass?? I also plan on going fishing on Cayuga Lake soon. What lures or bait would be good for pike, large and smallmouth bass, trout, and things of that sort? Thanks

1. One of my favorite Rapala lures is the X-Rap Shadrap in both shallow and diving models. It has a great zig zag action and I caught many smallmouth on these in North Carolina. My favorite colors are olive green and gold with black back. I have also caught them on the Rattlin rap lipless crank too. Those are the only Rapala baits I have caught smallies on. Sorry I wont be able to help with the Cayuga lake portion of you question, never been and I'm not sure where it is located. Good fishing.

2. Any of their lures that match the predominant bait fish in the water you're fishing. I lean toward the jointed varieties. Have some in sinking & floating to cover varying water depths and situations.

3. I have caught several smallmouth using a shallow running shadrap or a #7 xrap in white color.

4. I've never been a big fan of Rapala lures (or hard bodied crankbaits and jerkbaits for that matter) but I really do like the looks of the Skitter Pop. I was watching a video of a man using the Skitter Pop and he caught an enormous Smallmouth with it, the fish easily went 4-pounds or more. I really like the frog color pattern that Rapala makes in this particular pattern.

The Shad Rap is a classic lure that definitely catches Smallmouth, and as you see, the X-Rap has been mentioned enough above.

If you are talking about any lure or bait, for lures, a 2" Bass Pro Shops Spring Grub will catch the heck out of the Smallmouth & Largemouth Bass, and I'm sure you'll catch a big Trout or even a Pike with it also. Just rig it on a Jig-Head, then cast & retrieve slowly, next to the bottom. For bait, 3-4" chub minnows (or any type of minnow) will catch the heck out of Smallmouth Bass, Largemouth Bass, & Pike. The smaller ones, 2-inches, will catch Trout too.
